I’m up early this morning sitting here at my desk on my laptop thinking about all of the things that I could be doing. The moving company packers are coming early today. As I look around, it feels sort of weird that our home as we know it will be dismantled in the next couple of days. All of the furniture that we strategically positioned, the pictures carefully placed on the walls, and the DIY projects will all be packed up and placed on a truck. The rooms where we ate, watched movies, and shared laughs will soon be empty.
Surprisingly, I’m calm and relaxed. I guess when you’ve done it 4 times you come to know what to expect. No point in getting all worked up. My husband and I have been married 17 years. Over the years, I’ve come to the realization that a house is just a house. Don’t get me wrong, I like nice things, and want a nice place to lay my head every night. What I’ve learned is that, what makes a house a home is the people who live there. My husband and his pleasant demeanor regardless of what happened at work, and my kids who keep it lively around here. We’ll be moving on to another house that we will make into a home.
So this is what I am grateful for today…..
I am grateful for the moving company and the fact that I do not have to pack all of this stuff up myself. I’ve decluttered, donated, and discarded. We’ve even set the things aside we need to take with us in our cars. Now that I’ve done my part, help is on the way to do the rest.
I know you were expecting me to say something touchy feely but that’s all I’ve got today. Thank God for help.
Yes indeed, I’m grateful and blessed.
Blessed Day to Ya,
Peace and Blessings,
