A volunteer from our reading program gave me this beautiful orchid to show her appreciation for my service to the Read to Succeed Program. In all honesty, she and the other 200 plus volunteers warm my heart and move me in a way that just blows my mind. Their commitment is unwavering. They deserve the flowers.
Words cannot express just how much the kindergarteners benefit from 30 minutes of one on one time with an adult who is guiding them through a structured reading program like ours four days a week. Priceless!! Reading is a basic foundation needed for success in life.
I’ve mentioned this program on my blog many times but I just can’t keep it to myself. It’s really special, it is. I’m grateful and honored to be a part of it.
Orchids are pretty special too. I’m not much of a flower enthusiast but it’s pretty cool to have your own organization designed to promote your growth. The American Orchid Society provides information on everything orchid. I will do my best to care for it and nurture it in honor of the 200 kids we serve each year.
Peace and Blessings!
