Sometimes the stressors of the world can take a toll on our spirit. Life happens all around us everyday; the good, the bad and the ugly. There are some things we just can’t control in life. For example, we can’t control the natural disasters, and in many cases the war and violence that occurs in the world.
The one thing we can control is how we react to it. There are days when I avoid the television, newspaper, internet and any other form of media. It affects me because I am a sensitive person who cares deeply about people. Wouldn’t it be great to have days with no bad news?
Eventually, we have to face it. Whatever it is……
One of my strategies is to bathe my thoughts in gratitude. Not in the sense that I am glad I was not affected by a situation, but from a place of humbleness. I’m learning to find value in the journey of my life even when things don’t go as planned. I intentionally look for all of the blessings around me especially when times are tough. I’m not suggesting that we not allow ourselves to feel, but gratitude helps to lift us up when we need it most.
Words cannot express how grateful I feel for my life, my children, sunny skies, the ability to learn and good health. I could go on and on.
My point is, that there are beautiful gifts around me everyday, all day and for that I am grateful.
Blessed Day to You!
Peace and Blessings,
