Wishing All Moms a Blessed Day!
This is my first Mother’s Day without my mother. It’s been five months now since she went to heaven. It’s still new, but I have some special memories that I will carry with me forever. She was never a big talker but she was a great listener. When I’m immersed in my feelings, I can hear her saying these things to me just as plain as day in her southern accent.
I hear you when you say….
“Girl, don’t take everything to heart?, just let it go.”
“She’s just like you when you were her age, um hmm, yes she is.”
“Girl why don’t you just sit down and relax sometimes, do you ever get tired?”
“You have been a good daughter to me, and don’t you think anymore about that.”
“I expect you to ignore the foolishness.”
“You can’t do everything, you have your own family to look after.”
“You and your family took good care of me.”
“That is great news, congratulations.”
These are all things she said to me and they bring me comfort.
We had many years together and I hear her voice and her counsel in my head all the time not in a scary way but a nostalgic sort of way.
Words cannot express how much I miss her physical presence. Yet I know that she is all around me in everything I do, because she taught me to be the woman I am today.
Happy Mother’s Day Mom!
Love You Always,
Peace and Blessings,
