What’s new? Our newest venture involves plenty of vegetables and fruits. We have joined all of you juicers out there. My daughter and I were very excited to receive our new juicer. We’ve made all kinds of creations with a little bit of this and that. I received the Juice Fountain Plus by Breville as a gift. It’s a great option because it is fairly reasonable in price at $149. It received a rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars on Amazon and there were 1,363 reviews. It was a great choice and I’ve been pleased so far. There are a lot of high-end juicers out there, but being a novice at this, I wanted to be sure that I would use it. As time goes on, an upgrade may be in my future.
I also received the “Big Book of Juices” by Natalie Savona. This is a fabulous resource. It includes over 400 recipes. I also like the fact that it tells you the health benefits of each recipe including nutrients, energy, detox, immunity, digestion and skin.
So why are we juicing? Although I do my best to prepare meals that are healthy and full of vitamins and nutrients, I’m certain that we are not digesting the recommended servings of fruits and vegetables. Juicing is a fast way to take in the carbohydrates, enzymes, vitamins and minerals which help build our immunity and protect us from sickness and disease. Plus, it’s a great way to get my family (including me) to eat vegetables that they would not normally eat.
I just have to get in the habit of juicing daily before my fresh vegetables go bad. The only other down side is the clean up. I try to disassemble the juicer and clean it right away. That part is a pain but doable. It’s no different from doing laundry or any other chore that I don’t feel like doing. All in all, the positive benefits of juicing far outweigh the negatives. Anything worth having or doing is worth working for, right. Happy Juicing!
Peace and Blessings,
