Kids have a way of keeping it real. They know their mom, and have no problem respectfully telling me when I need to lighten up. As I sit here recovering from knee surgery, I have to admit that I’ve been a bit tense lately. Fortunately, everything went well and I am on the mend.
My husband even chimed in by telling me my brow has been wrinkled a lot lately. That is definitely not the image or the impression that I want to give others especially my family who I share my life with daily. I don’t know about you, but sometimes I get so caught up in what’s next and wanting things to be a certain way, that I forget to enjoy the moment. Sometimes I allow myself to get caught up in “worry” and we all know worrying gets you nowhere.
My intention is to send a message of peace, love and joy. Who better than my family to get me on the right track? Don’t we all need a little redirection from time to time.
As a person who is always looking to improve, I’ve come up with several thoughts to help one LIGHTEN UP. I know that sometimes it’s easier said than done. When it comes to change I think about the saying yard by yard is hard, but inch by inch is a cinch.
Let your guard down and laugh a little. It’s good for you.
Ignore the small stuff. Everything can’t be a big deal.
Go with the flow sometimes. Spontaneity can be fun.
Hug often. Showing love and care to others helps relieve tension.
Tone is important. How you say something can determine how others receive it.
Enjoy the moment. See the value and the special things in every day.
Night out with friends, family or your spouse may do you some good.
Unplug. Sometimes sitting with a good book or your own thoughts is relaxing.
Pray for peace, comfort and harmony.
How do you lighten up?
Peace and Blessings,
